life was like a box of chocolates

My momma always said, ‘Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.'”

Are you familiar with the above sentences that finally have become one of the well-known quotes since the booming of Forest Gump movie in multiple locations worlwide 1994?   I bet you are!

Apart from it was starred by our favorite Mr. Tom Hanks, well yes it’s a great movie that had been nominated for almost all categories and won Academy Awards not only for Best Picture,  Best Director and Best Actor,  but also Best Adapted Screenplay,  Best Visual Effects and Best Film Editing.  Two years ago exactly in 2011 the Library of Congress selected Forrest Gump for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” as I quoted from Wikipedia.  What more to add?  It really deserves a big WOW!

I do remember I watched this movie several times that week since its first play here in 1994.  I remember the banging sound of a single voice that we could hear from the movie; “Run, Forrest, run!”  Do you remember the way he ran? 🙂  Well then It is said that the scene of him running across the country is often referred to when real-life people attempt the feat.  What do you say?

Watching this movie now especially the part of the mentioned scene above, it will refer me directly to one verse in my Bible about running to win; “Do you not know that all the runners in a stadium compete, but only one receives the prize? So run to win.”  Yes, RUN to WIN!  And what is the prize?  Let me quote this Phil 3:14 for you; “with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”  That’s the ONE!

When life was like a box of chocolates and we never know what we’re gonna get, praise the Lord that we do have hope in Him.  He knows everything!
